    I haven't been able to install Windows 10 due to the following error: C1900101-20017. Any idea what this is and does it mean I'm out of luck?

    Windows 10 haven't updated to version 1511 --- How to find product key

    I haven't run the ISO disk as of yet, I want the current product key in hand, on a post it note, prior to doing that, not interested in MS bullS**T about it not being needed. 2 hours online with tech support and they can't cope with the question of how
    can the current product key be accessed in windows 10.

    I've never owned a Apple product, but I can never see buying or having another MS product in my household after this.

    Keep Widows Update service and set Updates to Notify, then choose, which one you do not want.

    Run those command as admin via CMD:

    reg add "HKLM\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate\AU" /v "AUOptions" /t REG_DWORD /d 2 /f
    reg add "HKLM\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate\AU" /v "NoAutoUpdate" /t REG_DWORD /d 0 /f

    When some updates become available, use this tool to disable those, you do not want to install:

    some updates cannot be hidden by the "Show or hide updates", e.g. the updates notification shows Windows Defender Definition is ready to be downloaded and installed, but the "Show or Hide updates" does not show this updates.

    Windows Defender is AV protecting itself, the only way to stop its updates, is to disable it.

    The Windows Defender has been disabled, but notification still shows its update.

    Turn on WD, then turn it off, download this bat and run it as admin ASAP and restart.

    WARNING: Once WD is disabled this way, it can not be enabled again, not the easy way.
