    Windows Updater msiexec using 100% of GPU while idle


    I use my computer after last update today and I feel something strange like my GPU is working hard, then I checked at task manager and it said windows updater msiexec is using 100% of my 3D GPU. I don't know this cause by latest windows update or not, but I hope the problem will get fix soon.

    GPU Idle Higher on Battery?

    My normal GPU idle is about 139MHz; but when it's on battery-saver the GPU idle is 608MHz. Something about the 'battery saver' power option is increasing the GPU idle to 608MHz. This is destroying battery life and making the system run at much higher
    idle temperature. Help? System: Dell Inspiron 7000 Gaming (7567)

    Laptop idles at 70-100%

    It's not the disk, it's the CPU that idles like that.

    The only ''fix'' is to force the CPU to 50% max in advanced power settings, but that's kind of pointless as I'm leaving half of my CPU's potential unused.

    Windows 10 using GPU constantly when idling

    Yesterday I upgraded from Windows 8.1. Since then I see in HwiNFO that when Windows is idling the "GPU Memory Controller Load" is always going to a steady 4%. I discovered this when I saw that the average
    temperature of the GPU VRM was 10C higher than the idle temperature under Windows 8.1.

    In Process Explorer there are three processes that use GPU memory when Windows is idle: ShellExperienceHost.exe SearchUI.exe and explorer.exe.

    Has anyone seen this behaviour also?
