  1. Windows Updates do not work, attempting to fix caused a BSOD due to "CRITICAL_SYSTEM_ERROR"

Hello! I have encountered an unusual issue, which blocks me from doing a Windows Update in any way.Today I discovered, that I haven't had a Windows Update in years. My version of Windows is 1909.I have spent 2 hours attempting all sorts of advice from the internet. 3. Webcam Triggering 'Attempted Execute Of No Execute Memory' BSOD - Windows 10

    Hi,

Thank you for contacting Microsoft Community.

ATTEMPTED EXECUTE OF NOEXECUTE MEMORY Blue Screen of Death error appears when a device driver attempts to execute a program from a non-executable area of the memory. An error in the RAM (Random Access Memory) can also cause this BSOD error.

If you are using a built-in webcam, then, update the webcam driver and check if that helps.

    • Press 'Windows key + X' and choose 'Device Manager'.
    • Under 'Imaging devices', right-click on the webcam driver and update the driver.

Also I suggest you to follow the steps from the below article and check if it helps.

Windows Updates do not work, attempting to fix caused a BSOD due to "CRITICAL_SYSTEM_ERROR"

BSOD when updating to Fall Creators Update (1709

    Here's what I've tried.

    • Initial attempt. BSoD at 34% updating.
    • Changed recovery option to pause BSoD screen, so I can take note of what the error code is. This time, BSoD at 34% with error code: IRQL_NOT_LESS_THAN_OR_EQUAL.
    • Could not find MEMORY.DMP. Probably due to rollback after installation failure.
    • Ran Troubleshooting BSoD. No problems detected.
    • Troubleshooting Window Update failures. Corrupt registry key fixed; updates found. BSoD at 34% updating. Same error code: IRQL_NOT_LESS_THAN_OR_EQUAL.
    • Clean boot. Removed all startup apps. Did not work. BSoD at 34% updating. Error code: KERNEL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILURE.
    • Ran verifier on all drivers. Did not find any unverified or out of date drivers. All checks passed.
    • Ran sfc /scannow. Did not report any problems with system files. All checks passed.
    • Safe boot. Windows Update did not work. Infinite loading. Aborted.
    • Manual install via MediaCreationTool.exe. Did not work. BSoD at 34% updating. Error code: KERNAL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILURE.
    • Paused automatic updates. Tired of getting BSoD.

In all of the attempts, no memory dumps were found. Presumably, this was due to Windows 10 restoring to last safe point after a messy install failure.
