    Windows Updates, TPM, Wiped OS Drive


    Hi,I work with system integrators to do tech support. Since Mid-March I have had an influx of tickets with the following issue and I kid you not, they all come in after the 2nd or 4th Tuesday of every month. Like clock work now I know I am going to get at least ONE, if not more, tickets with the same problem. I am hoping that I can find other people who have experienced this.Customer states that after a shutdown or restart their PC now only boots to BIOS otherwise no known issues and PC was performing just fine. Upon inspection ALL drives are recognized by the bios, including documented OS d

    TPM update

    Don't know if this is the right place for this thread but whatever, laptop informed me that " a firmware update is needed for you security processor (TPM)," now, i looked up what to do and from a microsoft support thing, the last step says to clear the tpm. it has a warning saying to back up my data, i would like to know what clearing the tpm does, and what measures i need to take to make sure nothing goes wrong.

    Windows 7 update help needed

    They've changed that with Vista and Win7, it now looks on the hard drive for a qualifying previous OS and won't accept just the CD.

    However, as I said, booting from the Upgrade disc still lets you wipe the drive clean and do a fresh install.
