Windows 10: windows updates undoing themselves and troubleshooter finding no problems

I cannot install the newest windows update and I've tried everything I can to fix it. I know that I have enough disk space for an update, Ive checked for corrupted system files with Dism + sfc.exe as well as dell supportassist, I've used the update troubleshooter to see if it finds anything wrong, but it always says that It can't find a problem. I don't know if its a virus, but i rarely use my browser to download anything, and apparently it would be found in a corrupted system file. I don't know what to do, am I the only one with this problem?* Moved from Community Parti

In order to help you with the appropriate troubleshooting steps, pleas reply with the details requested below:

• Do you receive any error message after Windows update?
  
• May I know after which update do you see this message?
  
• When you say, “this message appear about half and hour" does the computer boot to the desktop?
  
• What is the make and model of the computer?
  

If the computer doesn’t boot to the Desktop, I would suggest you to refer the suggestions provided by DaveM121 replied on April 7, 2019 in the thread

'Undoing changes made to your computer' in Windows 10.



If you are able to boot the computer to the Desktop, I would suggest you to run the

Windows Update Troubleshooter and see if that helps.



If the issue persists, I would suggest you to reset Windows Update components. Kindly refer the article by Sumit on

How to:Reset Windows update components in Windows.



You may also want to refer the steps mentioned in the article
Troubleshoot problems updating Windows 10.



Note: While performing chkdsk on the hard drive if any bad sectors are found on the hard drive when chkdsk tries to repair that sector if any data available on that might be lost. Also, the last step in the article
talks about Clean installation, please do not perform a clean installation of Windows.

Windows 10 infinite restart black screen


The tutorials provided are just a list of troubleshooting steps. Use only the steps which apply to you.

Since none of the troubleshooting steps here worked, I'd suggest you do a Clean install.

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.
