  1. Windows Updates???

After spending literally hours on this, I've found a work-around, for the lack of a better description. I now get a Windows Updates run with no errors and it populates the Update History.

Cycling thru the Show/Hide (thanks @WOT for this one) program, hiding the offending files seems the best option. It leaves no errors in the Windows Update Troubleshooter. Troubleshooter is not able to delete these updates. All of which makes me wonder if the problem isn't more with these specific updates rather then the Windows Update function.

I know this is out of date, but wonder if someone can shed some light on it maybe being a solution here: https://social.technet.microsoft.com...w7itprogeneral

Any and all comments are welcome.

The folder and it's sub-directories gets rebuilt when deleted - it just stores updates should you want to uninstall them. The folder can get huge so purging it is not big deal.

I had to update some commands posted here: Windows 10 Update Error 0x80240439 - Windows 10 Forums

Thought it was time to upgrade it to powershell, and included the commands of the link you posted. in this script.

  3. So that (C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download\*.*) IS where the hung up/problem files are located?

  4. Windows Updates???

This is progress. Just updated 2017-05 Cumulative Update KB4020102 without incident. Everything installed and Update history updated accordingly. Maybe I'm fixed for good now.

Still have the previous 4 hidden updates. Not sure about cleaning out the download folder.
