  1. Windows Upgrade causing excess fan usage?

I have 2 Dell Latitude 3379 laptops. 1 of them was running Windows 2004 before it was released as it was part of the insider program at the time. One thing I noticed in it was that the fan was almost always on and working at considerable speed even though the temperatures were about 40 degrees. Another thing I noticed was that in the laptop running 1909, the fan worked normally and almost never turned on at low CPU temperatures. Now I have upgraded that laptop to 2004 too. Now it is working like a windmill as well. What can be the reason for this?

    :)

  2. excessive cpu usage

When I use Microsoft solitaire the cpu usage rapidly ramps up to as high as 80% causing the fan to absolutely race. This is new ion the last few days. Nothing else seems to cause this. Any suggestions?

    Windows 10 excessive bandwidth usage

Kindly try performing a Clean Boot on your PC. A clean boot is performed to start Windows by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This helps eliminate software conflicts causes excessive bandwidth usage.
You may also troubleshoot or determine what conflict is causing the problem by performing a clean boot. To do so, follow these steps:

    • Log in to your PC with an account with administrator rights.
    • On the Search box, type msconfig and press Enter.
    • On the Services tab of the System Configuration dialog box, tap or click to select the Hide all Microsoft services check box, and then tap or click Disable all.
    • On the Startup tab of the System Configuration dialog box, tap or click Open Task Manager.
    • On the Startup tab in Task Manager, for each startup item, select the item and then click Disable.

    Keep us posted.
