Windows 10: Windows Upgrade error

Recently, I upgraded my pc from windows 8.1 to windows 10. But after upgrade, windows update is stuck on "Checking for Updates". Also MS Edge webpages are not opening. I have high speed internet and available disk space. Please help me.

Video card or RAM need upgrading?

Memtest: no errors after 10 hrs.
I'm going to perform the Primetest, later on. Get back to you on that.
I'm going to take it step by step, guys. I need to find the problem with this current computer. I might have to upgrade some components, so that it is still runnable. As for the new one, yes....i will build on it later. I need to find something decent 'gaming experience', all suggestions appreciated. THanks.

The error 0xc1900208 occurs if there are applications installed that are not compatible with the system. This restricts the system to process the upgrade. We would like to know which version of Windows are you currently using.

windows xp installation and dual core am

could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx
