Windows 10: Windows Upgrade failures from SCCM deployment

I'm trying to deploy a Windows 11 upgrade to some of our older Windows 10 machines that meet the minimum requirements but am having problems with deploying to my initial test machine. When the Task Sequence progress is shown, the installation keeps hanging at 14%. Which log files do I need to examine for errors/hints as to what is causing the installation to not complete?Thanks in advance.

SCCM 1606 and Failed Windows 10 1607 Upgrade

I created a SCCM task sequence using the 'Upgrade an operating system from an upgrade package' template and the task sequence works provided there is not an issue during the upgrade. If the upgrade fails Windows automatically reverts back to Windows 7. This
is great, but the task sequence never continues and the 'Rollback on Failure' group never executes.

I have post processing that needs to be executed after a rollback that installs applications which were uninstalled prior to the 'Upgrade Operating System' step being run.

I found after the rollback that the ccmexec service is disabled. Looking through the logs it is disabled by the 'Upgrade Operating System' step in the task sequence.

If I manually enable the ccmexec service and restart the machine, Software Center is empty. Forcing a Machine Policy Retrieval & Evaluation Cycle does not fix the problem. Reinstalling the client by running ccmsetup does not fix the problem. The only way
to get Software Center to show applications is to completely uninstall the SCCM client and then run ccmsetup again.

Any ideas on how to get the 'Rollback on Failure' group to execute?

BSOD on deployment of Windows 7 to 10 upgrade in SCCM

In order to meet Microsoft's end of support date in January, we have been attempting an in-place upgrade of Windows 7 to Windows 10. This appears to be a problem with some Dell machines. I have a newer Dell machine and it upgraded successfully. Currently,
it is failing on Optiplex 780 and 390's. Also on Precision T1700. They all crash at 90-91%.

Some have suggested it is because the hardware is not supported. However, we can upgrade these machines manually and it works fine.

When each machine reaches 90% during the upgrade, it throws a blue screen with the error: CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED and then does a memory dump and reboots. We have ran setupDiag to determine what is causing the failure. We have eliminated the drivers that
were listed as incompatible.

These are the steps I have taken to resolve the issue:
1. I ran a chkdsk /x /r /f to test for any file system issues
2. I ran sfc/scannow to repair any OS issues
3. I have uninstalled all software on a test computer this is happening on. I also removed the antivirus software from it.
4. I have tried running the task sequence after a clean boot
5. I removed all hardware drivers based upon the error reports.
6. I have manually ran the Windows 10 compatibility check with no problems found

The SetupDiagResults.log file only shows an error with a memory dump during setup.

I have examined the memory dump file and could not necessarily find anything that jumps out at me as to the issue.

SCCM Deployment issue

Hi,

i configured SCCM server on Azure VM and looks like all the settings configured but for some reason i still dont see the client installed from the SCCM dashboard although on the client side the client installed and found the MP.
