Windows 10: Windows users password setting have started changing

In the last two days we have had several laptop uses whos Password setting are changing to user must change PW on next login. this setting when laptop is configured and give to our students is turn of and the user cannot change password is turned on. We have had the setting change in the last two days which makes our students have to bring their laptop in for Technical Services correct the settings. Has anyone seen this going on with your deployed systems.

We would suggest you to follow the steps below to change the password for your local account:

• Press Windows key + X and then choose Control Panel.

• Select Manage another account and then click your user name or the local account that you wanted to set for a new password.
• Click Change the password.
• Provide the correct details to change your local account password and then click

Changing User Accounts Password

If you are an Admin user for your Windows 10 device, it’s still possible to change another user’s password. To perform the said task, follow these steps:

• Simultaneously press Windows + R to open the Run dialog box.
• Once accessed, type netplwiz and hit
  Enter.
• Select the user and choose Reset password.
• Change it to your preferred password.

Once done, you may close the window and try to use the new password for the account.

To change your Windows user password, you can perform the steps written below:

• Click Start.
• Click on your user account on the top, and select Change account settings.
• Select Sign-in options on the left panel.
• Click the Change button under Password.
• Enter your current password, and hit Next.
• Type your new password and reenter it. Provide a password hint that will help you in case you'll forget your password.
