Windows 10: Windows Video Editor - Error importing photos or videos

Hello,I'm working in a school and we've finally moved away from the old Movie Maker, replacing it with the Video Editor app.However, when staff or students alike create a new project and want to import photos/videos "From this PC" which is the first option, so they always go for this one, they systematically get this error : "This file has some properties that can't be read".However, copying these same files in "My picture" and then importing them in Video Editor using the "From my collection" option allows to import them without any issue.Furthermore, after this, they can be deleted from th

Hello,

I'm working in a school and we've finally moved away from the old Movie Maker, replacing it with the Video Editor app.

However, when staff or students alike create a new project and want to import photos/videos "From this PC" (which is the first option, so they always go for this one), they systematically get this error : "This file has some properties that can't be read".

However, copying these same files in "My picture" and then importing them in Video Editor using the "From my collection" option allows to import them without any issue.

Furthermore, after this, they can be deleted from the project and imported again, this time through "From my PC", successfully.

Lastly, if I login to Windows with my administrator account, I can import the same files "From my PC" directly without having any error message.

All my googling results have been about resetting of fixing the app. I've done it multiple times, this doesn't fix anything in this instance.

There are 2 easy conclusions from this : the files are not corrupted, and the issue comes from the difference between my admin account and the student/staff accounts : permissions.

Now, WHICH permission ? Problem is, I've got no idea.

Is there anyone having a "deep" knowledge of this application, and which folders/processes/others it uses that could cause this error ? Logs that could point me in the right direction ?

We are using a variety of desktop computers (hardware-wise), all running on Win10 21H2 , kept up-to-date.

The Video Editor app (or rather the Photos app, since they're one and the same) is v. 2022.30070.26007.0

Please suggest me a very good video editor and a photo editor (although inbuilt photo editing is there but still if there is any better) for my nokia 808 pureview white and from where i can download these and install in my mobile.

Did an update to 20H2, and bloatware run, now photos and video editor are no longer found. Any suggestions.
