Windows 10: Windows Video Editor - How to fix "stuttering" issue

About one month ago, I started recording gameplay from my Nintendo Switch and editing it in the stock video editor. I've seen plenty of others use different apps, but the only ones I could find couldn't manage text the same way. Since late June, a problem has occurred more and more frequently. At seemingly random positions, an issue will occur where the image factor of the video stayed the same while the audio works normally. An example can be found here. I've tried at least 4 more popular editors since, and they all either cost money, added watermarks, and/or didn't let me use text as needed

Video and audio stuttering

My name is Mohammed Shuaib, an Independent Advisor and I'm here to assist you in resolving your stuttering issue with Video and Audio. I would suggest you follow the below fixes one by one to resolve the issue.

Fix #1:

Step 1:

Go to search box next to Windows icon and type CMD

Step 2:

Right-click on Command Prompt and select Run As Administrator

Step 3:

Type msdt.exe -id DeviceDiagnostic and press enter.

Step 4:

Restart PC and Verify

Fix #2:

Step 1:

Go to search box next to Windows icon and type Troubleshoot

Step 2:

Click on Troubleshoot

Step 3:

Then select Video Playback and click Run the Troubleshooter

Step 4:

Restart PC

Fix #3:

Step 1:

Go to search box next to Windows icon and type Troubleshoot

Step 2:

Click on Troubleshoot

Step 3:

Then select Audio Playback and click Run the Troubleshooter

Step 4:

Restart PC

Let me know the status after performing the above and if in case the issue still persists then will provide you with further steps to resolve this issue.

HL2 stuttering fix

Valve has released a Patch for Half-Life 2 which is supposed to fix the sound problems people were having. In most cases this is related to video memory texture trashing.

 

Update and stuttering issue

• What is the make and model of your device?
• Were you able to successfully update your OS to Windows 10?
• Does the stutter happen even when you're connected to your Wi-Fi network?
