Windows Volume Doesn't Affect Xbox Wireless Headset Volume

I'm on a Windows 10 PC and I've connected an Xbox Wireless Headset using the Xbox Wireless Adapter. There is a volume slider on the headset itself that works fine, but the headset is unaffected by the volume control on the actual computer.

This has to be a problem relating to my computer and the Xbox Wireless Adapter, because the volume works completely fine when I connect the headset to anything via Bluetooth.

I'm not sure what to do to fix this as I can't find any solutions online, only a few people who had the same problem. It's possible for me to use the Bluetooth connection, but I'd really prefer if this wireless adapter worked properly and I could adjust the volume normally.

If anyone could help with this, that would be great!

    :)

  2. Windows volume control slider does not affect headset

I have a Sony Gold Wireless Headset that I have been using for quite a few months now, and until yesterday they had worked flawlessly. Yesterday, I was messing around with options trying to do something and now the volume slider does not affect the headsets
output volume. It says I am changing the volume for "Sony Headset (Wireless Stereo Headset)" but the volume does not change unless I do it manually on the headset. For months, I was able to control the volume on the PC itself. Any help would be fantastic!

PS, This problem was happening before I upgraded to Windows 10, so the upgrade is not the issue.

Changing master volume doesn't change volume on Turtle Beach Recon 600

    Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

The change in master volume won’t affect the volume on your headset until and unless the device is set as
default. I suggest you to set the headphone as default device and see if the issue persists.

    • Connect the audio device to your PC.
    • Right click the speaker icon on the taskbar and choose
      Sounds.
    • Under Playback
tab, right click on your headset and set it as default audio device.
    • Exit sound control panel, and check if the issue persists.
