Windows 10: Windows wants me to log-in using "account's password" which i did not create

I've always used PIN to log in, but now there's an option to log in using the "account's password". I use 2 microsoft accounts, tried passwords of both and neither works. I can still log in using the PIN, but I can't change the PIN or add new log-in method because it's impossible to know the password I've never created. Even when I tried to add the security questions, I couldn't, again because of the password. I tried everything and nothing works. There is nothing written about this, so there I am, writing this dumb post. Please help.

I understand your concern and frustration you have been through. I will be glad to assist you.

If you are using a Microsoft Account you cannot remove password because of the security reasons. I would suggest you to create a new local account from which you can log in and avoid login password and pin. Follow the steps below.

Refer the link below and create new Local account.

Follow the steps below to avoid log in password.

• Press “Windows Key + R”.
• Type “netplwiz”.
• And select the Local account and uncheck the option "user must enter user name and password to use this computer".

How to disable password at log on?

To assist you better, I would like to know whether you are logging in with Microsoft account.

If you are using the Microsoft account to log in, I would like to inform you that it is not possible to sign into Windows without the password.

However, you may create a local account/user account and use that account to sign in, so that it will not ask you for the password when signing in.

I suggest you to refer to the article created by Andre da Costa
(MVP, Community Moderator & Wiki Author) and check if you are able to retrieve the files that are missing from the computer.

Redirecting

Once you have created a local account, Please follow the below steps, if you would like sign in to a user account without password.

• 
  Press Windows
  + R.
  
• 
  Type netplwiz.exe
  
• 
  Uncheck this box “Users must enter a username and password to use this computer” and press apply.
  
• 
  Automatically sign in password box prompts. Write your Password twice and press OK.

Create account without using to log in to Windows

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community and being a part of Windows 10.

I understand the inconvenience you are facing in accessing the operating system with the Microsoft account. Do not worry we will help you with this issue.

When you upgrade to Windows 10 from previous operating system, Windows will ask you to log-in using the Microsoft account/ the local account. If you have chosen the Microsoft account, you will have to enter the password.

I would like to inform that it is by design you will have to enter a password to log-in through Administrator account.
This feature is being implemented to make more secure with the user profiles.
Local accounts can be used without entering the password.

You can log-in the operating system using local user account provided that you cannot access Windows apps without Microsoft Account.

Also, once you log-in to the system with Microsoft account it is updated to access all the Windows apps including Office 365.

If you are not comfort to enter long letters of password, you
may also create the 4 digit PIN which will reduce your time to enter full password.

Follow the below steps.

• Login with Microsoft account.
• Press Windows + I keys to open
  settings menu.
• Click on Accounts.
• Click on Sign in options.
• Click on Add under PIN.
• Follow the onscreen instructions to create Pin.
• Sign out and try to sign in again using PIN as your Sign in option.
