Windows 10: Windows will not boot after last upgrade

Hi,
On a laptop with Win 10-64bit at our seniors centre.

Recent upgrade took a very long time due to poor internet connection. The last upgrade install ( about 2 weeks ago) , when system rebooted an error message comes up saying the update was not complete and to reinstall the upgrade. Problem is when hit Okay it justs reboots to the same place and and same error message. Can not boot into safe mode.

Any ideas????

Will not boot at all after upgrade last week

I have windows 10 it will not boot up at all goes to black screen with Dell on it then to BOIS screen every time . Now saying non-bootable it's been two week or more sense the last upgrade wiped everything out. Maybe you should have sent a disc out
so people could work off the disc to help start in times like this knowing full that Windows 10 was not ready for marketing. I'm now working off my old 8yr old HP with Vista which I can't upgrade anymore.

• What version of Windows do you have?
• What are you trying to do when it boots to BIOS (screen with F1 & F2 option)?
• Is there any changes made prior to the issue?

Welcome to the forum. You dont say what the update was if there is no data on there you can get the latest full version dvd free from Download Windows 10 and do a clean install

 

1) Please update the specs in the "My Computer" section:
System Specs - Fill in at Ten Forums:
System Specs - Fill in at Ten Forums Site Use Tutorials
In the left corner below in your post you find 'My System Specs'.
After clicking it you can find a link a little below that says 'Update your System Spec', click on this link to get to the page where you can fill in your system specs.

Include PSU. cooler, case, peripherals and anything attached to the computer by wired or wireless (mouse, keyboard, headset, printer, xbox, etc.)

2) Create a bootable Windows 10 iso:
Download Windows 10

3) Once the bootable windows 10 iso is available > insert into any USB port
4) Open the BIOS > temporarily modify the boot menu so that the computer will boot to the USB external hard drive
5) Boot to windows 10 iso

Use a camera or smart phone camera as needed to take pictures and post images into the thread:


6) choose language, time, currency, and keyboard, or click next
7) Do not click install
8) In the left lower corner click on "repair your computer"
9) click troubleshoot
10) In the windows advanced troubleshooting menu click command prompt > Administrator: X:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe > X:\Sources>
11) Type: bcdedit | find "osdevice"
12) Type: bootrec /scanos
13) Type: DISM /image:G:\ /cleanup-image /revertpendingactions (replace G with the drive letter for the partition)
(there is a space between \ and /)
14) Type: sfc /scannow /offbootdir=G:\ /offwindir=G:\windows
(replace each letter G with the drive letter for the partition)
15) Type: chkdsk /r
exit or reboot

 

How much free space is left on the Windows 10 "C" partition??
