Windows will not connect to WIFI router with new password and same SSID

After changing password for a non-broadcasting network's SSID Windows 10 continues asking for a new network key then does not accept the new key. Password was changed for safety purposes and has been accepted by other devices on this network, most of which are Apple ios or TV's

Device running Winow's 10 is Dell Inspiron AMD 9th Gen. Router is Norton Core.

  2. Nokia 920 and 820 will not connect to hidden SSID WiFi

I have tried connecting using the advanced + options as suggested. I am able to enter the SSID with the router then asking for the password. The correct password is entered - but I then get a message saying that the router is not responding to the requested.
However, if the SSID is made visible a connection can be made fine. The Lumia 920 then holds the WiFi connection until the SSID is made invisible again at which point the connection is lost. Make it visible again and a connection is restored.
The router in question is a netgear - I will try this evening using another router and see if the same symptoms exist.

  4. Windows will not connect to WIFI router with new password and same SSID

Phone won't connect if I change wifi password

This post states that you did'nt Apply the router config after changing the password.

Possible the router memory is bad or not saving new setting
Change the password reboot the router , check after in router if new password saved
If not, reset router to factory default and re setup
check if setting saved after reboot

If do change router password the network will need to be deleted off phone and connect again (or it trying to connect to old saved wifi password ) or could manually change it on phone and save ( as others have stated )

    192.168.1.1
    home network
    Wlan
    Configure

Change password and apply , Make sure "Allow new Devices - set to -new stations are allowed (automatically) "

Using same router myself , Free from ISP not the greatest at all *Wink Windows will not connect to WIFI router with new password and same SSID ;)
