Windows 10: Windows won't accept PIN while offline

I use my laptop at work and outside while offline. Today, when I tried to log on while away from an internet connection, I got a notification saying that I couldn't log in because my device was offline.This is the first I have ever gotten this message. I was completely locked out from doing work for an unacceptable amount of time. How do I make sure this never happens again? Also, what caused this to happen? I've logged on before offline many times in many different circumstances, and this never came up before.If this happens again I swear to god my next laptop will run Linux or Apple.

After Windows 10 update, signin screen won`t accept my pssword.

Sign-in screen won`t take my password after Windows 10 update on a new HP laptop. I had setup a pin login but now asks for Microsoft password which I wrote down and have used before but will not accept now.

• Did you make any changes to your computer prior to this issue?
