Windows 10: Windows Won't allow me to change my desktop background

I own a Asus Rog Zephyrus m15 and I have Windows 10 installed obliviously. When I finished the setup it automatically changed my desktop background photo to what my old laptop had as a background which was a photo I took. The other day i wanted to change the desktop background but it won't allow me too. I don't get an error or fault but instead when I select "browse"to find an image on my laptop and then I select one it takes a few seconds but then it just changes the background to a random color instead. I've researched different methods of fixing this problem but so far nothing has worked. I really hope someone on here can help me with my problem.

• Press Windows Logo Key + I. Then click on Personalization.
• Click on Background to change it.

To change the desktop background into a solid color, see the steps below:

• Right-click on the desktop, and select Personalize.
• Under Personalization, select Background.
• On the right pane, click on the drop-down menu for Background, and then select
  Solid color.
• Choose your preferred color and it should immediately make changes.

• Have you made any changes on the computer prior to the issue?
• Are you referring to desktop background image or lock screen image?

I suggest you to follow the below steps to change the background picture and check if it helps.

• In the search type as ‘Settings’ and click on it.
• Select ‘Personalization’, under ‘Background’ option select as ‘Picture’.
• Under ‘Choose your picture’ select any picture accordingly or you can browse the picture from your computer.
