Windows 10: Windows won’t allow me to connect to my new printer

Hi all,I’m trying to connect my laptop to my new Canon printer but Windows won’t allow me to download the app to do this. It recommends that I change my settings. However, when I go into Virus Protection to temporarily uninstall there is no option to Manage Settings. Thank you

6020 won`t connect through Irda

The problem was with my Irda adapter. I got a new one and I am able to connect with Nokia 6020. But still I can`t connect with Nokia 6600. I`ve tried to set different connection speeds but still nothing. The PCSuite finds that there is a Nokia 6600 present
but it won`t connect with it. Any ideas of how to solve it?

First, I would suggest installing the actual driver package from Brother. While the printer may work with the fairly generic drivers that come with Windows 10, I've always found that I get better results from the actual Brother drivers.

I have a rather old Brother printer so the exact steps may be a bit different from yours, but in my case when I install the drivers it will search the network for available printers and allow me to specify the printer that it finds. If it does not find a printer, it may ask you to initially setup the printer via a direct connection (USB), and then configure the printer for network use (WiFi).

In any case, the installation wizard should guide you through the steps.
