    No one knows the answer to this yet. Windows Phone 8 / Apollo's details have not been released.

    Apolo will support single and duo core phones. Chances are that most phones will be eligible in spite of what rumors say



    Example: 1st generation iphone's still get the same major updates the 4S get, they just don't take advantage of features that require the new hardware.



    Take this information with a grain of salt - until Microsoft discloses the information officially we have no accurate resource of knowing.

    Closer integration between the windows phone and desktop? I thought that is what windows 8 was.

    They will continue to make the phone/tablet as a single OS, and continue to move desktop/laptop OS closer to what will end up one OS.

    Not the best news for power users, hope they can pull it off and make everyone fairly happy. Probably not.
