  1. Windows won't let me extend one of my volumes

So, I found a family member's old laptop from March 2009, a DELL Inspiron 1545, made when Windows 7 was still in beta, and it was dualbooted with Windows Vista, which it came with, on C:\ drive, and Windows 7 on the G:\ drive. However, I noticed, the C:\ drive only has 41 GB and 25 GB free in it, so I wanted to extend the volume, but it won't let me.Do I have to do something extra? Windows Vista has Service Pack 2 installed and Windows 7 has Service Pack 1 installed. Even booting to Windows Vista won't let me extended. What can I do? I am not going to reinstall Windows on any drives, so don't

    :)

I suggest you to follow the steps below

    • Run Disk Management. Open Run Command (Windows button +R) a dialog box will open and type "diskmgmt.msc".
    • In the Disk Management screen, just right-click on the partition that you want to shrink, and select “Extend Volume” from the menu
    • Locate your system partition — that’s probably the C: partition. Right-click on it and select “Shrink Volume.” If you have multiple partitions on your hard drive, you could also choose to resize a different partition to free up space.
