Windows 10: Windows wont let me set up a PIN and I cannot do anything about it.

I’ve been trying to fix my father’s laptop for over 2hrs now.The problem is that he is stuck on the login screen for the laptop as windows wants his account to set up a PIN but something keeps failing and it is not giving an error code, he also had a PIN setup already on the old laptop and is using the same windows accountHe had been using the laptop for few months at this point but this happened when he went to go use his old laptop to pull files, afterwards when he went back onto the new laptop he had to completely sign back into his windows account and it started trying to set up a PIN whic

Have PIN for Windows 10 but need Windows password

To set up a PIN on your Windows account, we suggest that you follow the steps below:

• Type the word pin in the search box and select
  Set up PIN sign-in.
  
• 
  Under the PIN section, click the
  Add button.
  
• 
  Enter the password for your user account, then click the
  OK button.
  
• 
  Follow the instructions on the screen.

Cannot set up PIN after Creators Update

In this case, we recommend to repair and set up a new PIN by doing the following steps:

• Open File Explorer and browser to this location:
  

C:\Windows\ServiceProfiles\LocalService\AppData\Local\Microsoft\NGC

• Delete everything within that folder. You must be logged in as the Administrator to do this.
• Go to Settings > Accounts > Sign-in Options.
• Click Add a PIN again and set your PIN.
• PIN sign in should work moving forward.
