Windows 10: windows wont sleep

my pc will only enter the lock screen and stay that way, it wont sleep. How can i fix this?

yes, it was already off.

its waking up one hour after it sleeps for about 2 minutes, then sleeping again. How the eff can i track what it does in that time if nothing shows in powerCFG or the event log?

Method 2: I suggest you to run in-built Power troubleshooter and check. Follow the steps:

Method 3: If the above method doesn’t help, I would suggest you to reset and restore all of the default Power Plans back with their default settings. Follow the steps.

Method 4: Lastly I suggest you check your chipset and video drivers, try checking for the updates from the manufacturer's website and update all the necessary drivers, i.e the chipset and video drivers

Windows 10 Won't Sleep


Try these steps. Windows 8.1 wont sleep - fixedByVonnie works for win10 too.

Make note of what you unchecked or checked as you travel through these different steps. Also if you have created a custom power plan you might want to delete it for now and use the MS balanced plan instead. I set sleep to "do nothing when i push the sleep button" since I don't even have that option on this pc.
