Windows 10: windows word pad

After a recent update, windows word pad does not work.

The error message reads: unable to create new document.

How do I correct this?

After upgrading to Windows 10, unable to find Word pad.

I suggest you to try searching for Word pad though the search box in the task bar of your computer and check if it helps.

Follow the below steps:

  Type Word pad in the search area on the task bar.

  Select the WordPad application.
  

You may also, place the WordPad in the task bar of your computer for further access. Just right click on the
WordPad and Select Pin to taskbar.

How do I change wordpad documents in readable word documents? I downloaded all my documents from my old computer and a lot of them were in word pad and I cannot read them. Just symbols. Can you send me step by step instructions on how to convert please?

Short cut in changing Word Pad default to Word in Windows 10

Unaware of what the cause was, I get a Word Pad default every time I try to open my Word file.

Here is a few simple steps I did:

Right Click on Word Pad

Setting

Properties

General

Click om Word Pad and change to Word (Icon appears)
