Windows 10: Windows would not boot up, reinstalled and now keeps crashing

My PC crashed a couple of days ago and would not restart - it kept going into recovery mode. I hadn't installed any new software or hardware. I could only get it to run in safe mode. All the usual fixes failed but I was eventually able to reinstall Windows from a USB drive. However it seems very unstable and I'm not sure it has installed any of the drivers for the hardware. The display is very low res and is showing just the basic Windows driver for the graphics card. When I try to download the driver for my graphics card the download fails after a while - this is happening with files from other sites as well so it's not a problem with the driver site. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Increase the window size step by step and watch your vga temps permanently.
What happens?
If it crashes, run at stock speeds as suggested before and retry.

P.S.: When your system locks, does the display signal turn off after a time?
Stuttering sound or no sound at all when freezing?
What X1800XT model do you own exactly?

[Solved] Windows 10 keeps reinstalling KB3119142

I noticed quite some time ago that KB3119142 (Update for Microsoft Visual C++ 2012 Update 4 Redistributable Package) kept reinstalling itself for some reason. At least once daily. Sometimes up to several times a day. I just ignored it. It didn't seem to be doing any harm. And I figured they'd eventually fix it. Well...days turned into weeks, weeks into months, with no end to the problem in sight. It dragged on unsolved for at least the last few months. Literally reinstalling itself hundreds of(at least a hundred, felt like more) times in that period of time.

So I finally googled it a couple days ago. And just got around to fixing it today. Which appears to have worked. And it couldn't have been easier to do. I feel so stupid to have let it intimidate me for so long.*Oops!

• Were you still able to login to the computer after it happens?
• Can you send us a screenshot of the error messages or mini dump that you've received?

"When did you get the error?".
