Windows 10: Windows XP boot looping when plugging in USB device

Hi,I am using a USB adapter with my Windows XP.I plugged in a USB device into the USB adapter. Then my PC randomly started boot looping out of nowhere. What could have caused this? Suggestions for a fix please?Thank you

Windows XP no boot

I have a no boot issue in windows XP. It just keeps giving me the "no boot device" or something similar. It will boot from the Windows XP Home disk without any issues. I have tried replacing the boot.ini, fixmbr, and fixboot. None of these have worked. I even went so far as to doing the repair by installing Windows XP Home. When it rebooted it still gave me the same reading.

I can get it to boot from a Paragon Rescue disk though. I am at a loss on this one. My next step is to run a boot virus check I suppose, as this system had over 300 trojans, virus' and malware.

This is a friends computer that has a bunch of his work related documents so I don't want to reformat or anything unless it has to.

 

Computer restarts itself when a USB device is plugged in. Need some Help!!

Hi Guys, i have a computer here running XP and it has an issue where it will reboot itself when a USB device is plugged into it like a Thumb drive or a USB hub etc, but it works fine when a USB mouse and Keyboard are plugged in. Ive tried a few things but it still crashes or bluescreens when booting windows.

If anyone has any idea how to fix this issue that would be great.

Computer is a old Compaq Evo 500 series 2002 model.
