Windows XP Pro - Internet via router?

Is it possible to connect WinXP to internet using my router?Everything I look at is for a modem. My modem is connected to the router via Ethernet, the the router is connected to the PC via an Ethernet.Again, I KNOW XP IS OLD AND NOT SUPPORTED!ALL I NEED IS A WORKING WINDOWS SO I CAN USE ITUNES!I do everything else in Linux. Hopefully someone will come up with an app that I can use to add to my iPod.Until then I am dependent on a windows install. 8.1 & Win10 are out of the question?I had Win7 on the unit, but the updates totally fubar’d Win7 to the point it wouldn’t even start!

    :)

I have a computer that still runs on Windows XP that was given to me about 2 yrs. ago & I recently just got an ethernet cable 3 wks. ago to connect the router to the computer. Because the computer runs on XP, I need step by step instructions on how to get
the list of internet providers on my computer to have the internet going through my provider. Can you do that for me? Is there step by step instructions for me to follow? Please help me with that.

Windows XP Pro - Internet via router?

Windows XP update and internet Issue

Microsoft has been shutting down some of their XP update server to prepare for the end of life of XP. That means that if your ISPs DNS servers are slow at updating then you will be trying to use servers that no longer exist.

I suggest you download the latest XP roll-up disc, it will have most of the updates you need and I also suggest hard coding a Google DNS as your primary DNS in your router.
