Windows 10: Windows Your Phone App - Fix for App Using a VPN

I recently started using a VPN on both my android Samsung phone and my windows laptop. Once I did, I ran into a problem where the awesome "Your Phone" app was no longer able to connect. I could connect if the VPN was active on my laptop only, but not when the VPN was active on both devices. After a little reading I found an easy fix that didn't require me to change my VPN Nord VPN of do some crazy work-around. Weather App not working windows 8.1

The apps troubleshooter wouldn't fix it on any of the machines. Tried syncing the app licenses, too. No dice. Uninstalling and reinstalling the MSN Weather App appears to have fixed it.
