Windows 10: Windows10: Cannot Change Lock Screen Picture

Hello!


I have this problem.

In Settings->Personalisation->Lock Screen->Background->Picture

I go and pick on Picture.

The UI sure changes the Picture shown.

But then when I sign out, or restart, the Picture shown in Lock Screen, is some same Picture from Windows Spotlight when it was first shown at the beginning.

Also in the same setting, it seems that I cannot anymore change it to Windows Spotlight.

It just shows the same old picture.


The above is with my admin account.

I have also another standard account. In the standard account, there seems no problem whatsover. Everything works nicely with that account.


So, can you help me please?

PS: I did a "repair" in place Windows installation, but the problem is still there.

By repair, I mean that I downloaded a Windows10 ISO and then I mounted the ISO and started the Setup.

Lock screen picture doesn't change anymore

My lock screen picture does not change anymore. Many others have this problem as well (Google search). A variety of fixes are suggested but most seem to involve messing with folder contents and even changing Registry entries. I am not comfortable with that.

Online, the simplest suggested fix I have found is:

• In Personalization->Lock Screen settings change Background to Picture.
• Delete everything from folder
  
  C:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Windows.ContentDeliveryManager_<somecharacters>\Settings
• In Personalization->Lock Screen settings change Background back to Windows Spotlight

First, if this is a consistent problem for so many, is Microsoft working on a fix?

Second, is the above solution safe to try?

I'd prefer it if someone from Microsoft Tech Support would weigh in on this.

Changing Lock Screen Picture in Windows 10 Home

I am trying to change my lock screen picture on my laptop running Windows 10 Home. I go into the settings and it allows me to change the lock screen picture. However, when I test it by locking the computer my older lock screen picture still shows up,
not the lock screen picture I wanted to change it to. Is there a step I am missing to change my lock screen picture?

I suggest you to follow the steps provided below and check if it helps.

• Navigate to Start>Settings>Personalization.
• In the left navigation pane, click on Lock screen.
• In the right pane, select Pictures from the drop down list under
  Background.
• Select the picture from the list or click on Browse to select your saved images and set as lock screen image.
