Windows 10: Windows10 Key purchased from Microsoft not working?

I am out of ideas at getting this to work.Purchased a Windows10 home product key from here and whenever I would enter the key it was invalid. This computer has been running without it for a week or so after putting it together and finally had funds to get the license. Ive tried doing a clean install again with the windows tool but same error happens with the key. Ive made sure its Windows Home, have good internet connection. I know the computer runs fine without it; so I dont understand why the product key doesnt work?

On my Dell 5559 Windows 10 , brightness not working.

Have tried few steps from youtube videos but did not work.

Please guide.

It is the third hit down in that link. I realize you didn't just upgrade. It was just a suggestion for something to try.

If you attach an external monitor, do those Function keys do anything?

Method 1:

I suggest that you reset the Windows Store cache as per the below mentioned steps and check:

• 
  Press Windows key and R key together
  to open the Run Window.
  
• 
  Type wsreset.exe and press Enter key for the command to execute.
  

Method 2:

You may try to run the in-built Windows Store app troubleshooter and check. Follow the steps:

• 
  Press Windows Key + X.
  
• 
  Click on Control Panel.
  
• 
  Select Troubleshooting.
  
• 
  On the left pane, click on View All.
  
• 
  Click on Windows Store apps to run the troubleshooter.
