Windows 10: Windows10 reverted back to windows8.1

Purchased dell XPS27 windows 8.1, upgraded to windows 10 when it became available. Windows 10 has been working well for me until about 2 weeks ago. Shut down computer properly, after 3 days I returned home and restarted computer. On restart computer, on its own, reverted back to the old windows 8.1 but will not let me download anything. Want to know how to get my windows10 back?? Have tried a lot of things but evidently not the right thing.HELP!!

Windows10 Clean Installation with Windows8 OEM laptop

Hi,

I have this situation, i need to change the Hard disk from my laptop that have a Windows8 OEM license but it's currently upgraded to Windows10 during the free period.

The question is, if I make a clean installation of the computer on the new HDD with the Windows10 ISO will the activation remember the Windows8 key and automatically activate the OS or it will keep asking me to insert it ?

To troubleshoot your issue, we suggest doing these following troubleshooting methods:

Method 1

• Turn off your PC.
• Press and hold Shift then turn on your PC.
• Wait for the setup (set up fixes the problem automatically).

Method 2

• Create a media creation tool by following the steps in this

• Select your preferred installation option and wait for the process to finish.
