Windows 10: Windows10: UPDATE 2018.

When installing the Win10 update I get a "pop up" which says to remove Avira AntiVir as it will compromise the system.

When I click on the "REMOVE" icon, I then get another "pop up" which says that windows is unable to remove this and that I need to do it manually.

I have tries using the uninstall program but can find absolutely no sign of the Avira AntiVir anywhere.


Can anyone give me a hint as to how to get past this problem?

I think it would have been better if it was shorted based on dates.

For example

2018 Q1_______
AMD: blah blah blah
Intel: blah blah blah

2018 Q2_______
empty - nothing expected for that period

2018 Q3_______
Nvidia: blah blah blah
AMD: blah blah blah

etc.

To troubleshoot your issue, we suggest doing these following troubleshooting methods:

Method 1

• Turn off your PC.
• Press and hold Shift then turn on your PC.
• Wait for the setup (set up fixes the problem automatically).

Method 2

• Create a media creation tool by following the steps in this
  link.
• Select your preferred installation option and wait for the process to finish.

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.
