Windows 10: Windows10 update hosed Win10, due to intel Optane RST driver bug. Can we repair partition

I had BSOD a month ago and it disabled my mom's laptop. The computer used intel Optane RST. I can see the data on the hard drive. However I haven't yet been able to rebuild the uefi boot loader when removing Optane RST. I had made a backup image of the hard disk.



Does anyone have a suggestion on what I can do to recover the OS but force it off RST and rewrite the uefi boot loader?



I haven't been able to find a solution from asus, intel,or microsoft.

Intel Optane Error, Can't Uninstall

Hi Mike

I do wish Microsoft and Intel would resolve these bugs in the updates, if it is not Intel RST, it is Intel Optane . . .

The best thing to do would be to go to either the Intel or Dell Websites, then download and install the current version of Intel Optane, then restart your PCand uninstall Intel Optane, re-installing Intel Optane should fix its installer,allowing you to then
uninstall it . . .

Intel RST service is not running

The Intel RST service is for the Intel Rapid Storage Driver. The Intel Rapid Storage Driver provides speed for data transfer and improves the performance for SATA drives or PCIe drives.

• What is the make and model of the computer and motherboard?
  

You can follow the methods mentioned below and check if that helps:

Method 1: Changing the startup type for Service

You can try changing the startup type for the Intel RST service and check if that makes a difference. Please refer the steps mentioned below:

1. Press and hold Windows key + R, to open
   Run dialog box.
   
2. Type serivces.msc and click on
   OK.
   
3. Now, scroll down, look for Intel RST service, right click on it and click on
   Properties.
   
4. Now, under startup type select Automatic from the drop down menu.
   
5. Click on Apply and OK.
   

Method 2: Updating the drivers manually

You can try downloading the latest version of Intel Rapid Storage Driver from the

Intel Website and check if that helps. However, I would suggest checking with the motherboard manufacturer website as well.
