Windows 10: Windowsapps wont let me delete nearly 100gb of unused DLC

I re-installed FH4 recently but have just uninstalled it for memory space, i know for a fact there is about 100GB of DLC cars windows i had to download. After finding them hidden in the windowsapps folder i have found windows wont let me delete any of them at all, nor change the permissions as far as i know even though i don't even have the base game anymore as i uninstalled it through the windows storage manager. I assumed using the windows uninstaller would remove ALL of my game data, not half and then lock the other half away to permanently clutter my hard drive. Is there anything i can d

WindowsApps folder says permissions are corrupted and need to be deleted, is this normal or critical?

According to your description, I suggest you try the following steps:

1. Navigate to the location C:\Program Files.
   
2. Right-click on the WindowsApps folder, and select Properties.
   
3. Turn to Security tab and click on Advanced.
   
4. Click on Change and then type Users in Enter the object name to select area.
   
5. Click on OK, then click Apply > OK. You can also add the TrustedInstaller to the users list and check if it takes effect.
   

However, you might be still not able to access the files. The workaround is to go inside the C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\, and repeat the same way with the Microsoft.WindowsStore* folders.

 

PC unusable after deleting files from WindowsApps

One problem led to another, so I really needed to perform a system restore and unfortunately I am aware that my pc has always had a problem with this and I just can't restore. So I set out to fix this issue so I would able to use this feature.

Then some forums including a microsoft one (System Restore failed - Source: AppxStaging Error - (0x80070091)) had a suggestion that you could delete or rename the C:/Program Files/WindowsApps folder.

So I did this and then rebooted and realised hey, my pc has a black screen and a cursor and nothing else.

One minor problem led to the pc being unusable. Willing to try anything? But it seems like I'm going to have to install windows again :'(

The folder didn't get deleted for some reason access is denied but I believe it deleted 99% of the files that were in it.

 

Trying to delete files in WindowsApps and it wants permission from "Administrators"

Thank you for getting involved.

I have checked that I am an Administrator. Using your steps, I am listed as Administrator under the Account name and email address.

I have also used the registry script on the linked site and used the shortcut to take ownership of the WindowsApps folder. Unfortunately this has not solved the issues. I then also tried the same shortcut on several folders within WindowsApps so that it was performed closer to the target files, without any luck.

Other suggestions would be most welcome. Thank you.
