Windows 10: Winfast TV card can not work in 10.

I don't think Windows 64-bit is much safer than 32-bit. It's probably an... urban legend! Creating drivers for Windows 64-bit involves signing the driver and that means pay royalty to Microsoft. Some companies avoid royalties by providing driver only for Windows 32-bit without driver signature (not mandate in 32-bit). Especially if this is an old model and they would prefer you buying a newer model, they do that on purpose. If you don't have drivers you will be forced to buy a new card. Windows 64-bit can run Windows 32-bit and 64-bit applications, but the driver must be 64-bit only, unfortunately. Post the model of your card and I'll try to find drivers for you. If it is based on Brooktree BT848 or BT878 chipset there are third party 64-bit drivers along with signing utility to sign them. I have used them successfully in Windows 7 64-bit for my Pinnacle PCTV Pro, but I didn't manage to make them work properly in Windows 10 64-bit. I could install the audio part (in "disable driver signature" mode) but the installation of the video part didn't complete successfully (the card appears as two devices video and audio in Device manager). However things could be different for your card and be possible to make it work. The only disadvantage using third-party drivers was that Pinnacle Vision (the TV viewing and recording application) didn't work because it could not detect a valid Pinnacle card (the card was described as a Hauppage in Device Manager, if I remember correctly). Any other application (NeroVision, VirtualDub) could use the card as expected without any issues and the picture quality was very good. And the BT8x8 effects of VirtualDub worked as well.

Thanks for your reply. I did check those links, unfortunately could not readily see what might have been appropriate, then again, I'm still a novice.

The model of the card is WinFast DTV2000 H Plus, that's what I see on the actual circuit board. There are 2 more stickers with barcodes but too small to read the print.

I have Nero Platinum Suite v 17 installed on my pc.

I didn't like LeadTek's control program, it was just to capricious about channels and providers and almost none of other SW, including my favorite Chris would work with it. I used KWorld TV card during analog TV days, First with Bt8x8 chip and than newer card with Philips 7213 chip which drivers work perfectly in W7, 8/8.1 and W10 x64. As matter of fact, I had to install drivers manually in W7 but 8 and 10 found them automatically. It's also good at separate inputs for S-Video and composite. In conjunction with ChrisTV, I was able monitor 2 security cameras and watch TV just by switching channels.

 

It was easier than I thought! I searched for WinFast DTV2000 H Plus and I found this link: WinFast DTV2000 H Drivers Download for Windows 10, 8.1, 7, Vista, XP

It includes 64-bit drivers. Download and try it and let me know if it worked. I recommend downloading both 32-bit and 64-bit drivers and keep it in your backup. Chances are you won't find these again in the future!

Thanks for your assistance, I hope it's the right one, I don't know if there is a difference between "H" and "H Plus".

I've downloaded 32-bit and 64-bit drivers.

I'll let you know what transpires. I'll be reinstalling the Capture Card either this weekend or Monday next week.

Have in mind that TV tuner cards have very little or none signal amplification, so to get any reception you'll have to use an active internal antenna (with amplifier), not a passive one. Even better if you can connect the card to the main external antenna you have for your regular TV. Do that the first time to tune the channels perfectly and then you can use an internal active antenna (or a passive if the signal is strong in your area) to watch TV. Make sure you select the appropriate signal format for your area (eg PAL-B or PAL-G for Greece) or you may have picture but no sound. If you get the TV standards wrong (eg NTSC instead of PAL and vice versa) you will get a B/W picture and it may flicker as well.

 

No problem, its all PAL in Australia, very easy to tune in. I use a signal booster with satellite dish.
