Discus and support Winows Update error 0x800704B8 - 0x3001A in Windows 10 Installation and Upgrade to solve the problem; trying to upgrade from windows 101607 to windows 10 1803 however I keep getting this error 0x800704B8 - 0x3001A the installation failed in the...     Winows Update error 0x800704B8 - 0x3001A


    trying to upgrade from windows 101607 to windows 10 1803 however I keep getting this error

    0x800704B8 - 0x3001A the installation failed in the FIRST_BOOT phase with an error during BEGIN_FIRST_BOOT operatin

    I have tried several things and even called Microsoft whose agents just keep redoing what didn't work from the last tech and give me new case numbers

    I went to the setuperr.log and found theses error logs

    Windows 10 1709 Update can not be installed - Error 0x800704B8 - 0x3001A

    The Fall Creators Update (Version 1709) just fails to install. During the installation, after the second boot at 30% the PC just restarts and the old windows installation is restored.

    - Executed Windows Update Troubleshoot

    - Repaired system files with 'SFC /SCANNOW'

    - Fix Windows errors with 'Dism.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /Restorehealth'

    - Deleted Windows update folder

    - Tried to update using a WIndows Installation USB drive with the latest ISO

    - Tried installation with Clean Boot

    I have no more ideas how to resolve this issue.

    I hope that you guys can help me with a serious problem with my Windows installation. The Fall Creators Update (Version 1709) just fails to install. During the installation, after the second boot at 30% the PC just restarts and the old windows installation
    is restored.

    I always get the same error message: 0x800704B8 - 0x3001A

    - I use the NetLimiter4 firewall

    I tried at least 10 times to install this update and tried various things:

    - Reset BIOS settings

    - Unplug all USB peripherie except mouse and keyboard

    - Executed Windows Update Troubleshoot

    - Repaired system files with 'SFC /SCANNOW'

    - Fix Windows errors with 'Dism.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /Restorehealth'

    - Disables all running software before Windows update

    - Deleted Windows update folder

    - Tried to update using a WIndows Installation USB drive with the latest ISO

    - Tried installation with Clean Boot

    I have no more ideas how to resolve this issue. I have installed around 15 games and some prgrams and I really do not want to do a fresh install.
