Windows 10: Winrar issue with windows 10 desktop: extracted file is invisible

Hi I am currently using Windows 10 and every time I extract a file on the desktop using WinRAR v 6.02, the extracted file does not appear on the desktop, while if I open the desktop from file explorer, the file is visible. Can anyone help with this?Thanks

Cannot extract zip file in windows but can extract with 3rd party software (WinRAR)

Hi,

When I try to open a zip file , I got an error like below. But I can open the same zip with WinRAR. Can anyone give me any suggestion to handle this issue? Is it any issue with the Zip?





I tried below steps too

1) Extracted the same zip with WinRAR

2) Created a separate zip manually with the same content.

3) Opened in windows (Note: Not with WinRAR), It worked.

strange winrar files on desktop

Hi,

It sounds like the WinRar files you mention are the files extracted from DirectX Runtime_June 2010_Redist.. You should find a file with the same name in C:\Windows\System32, although it will be the installed file, not the WinRar file..

There are multiple files in this package, but I don't know if there are 60.. My folder with these files has 160 files..

You would install them as a package by double clicking the DXSETUP..

Is it possible that the files are in the Recycle Bin and is the possible reason they do not appear on your normal Desktop..

 

Extracting Zip Files

Thanks pyramid10 for your contribution, I ensured that the steps taken and the source and destination folders were the same, in the using zip7 as suggested by BunnyJ resolved all issues for me.
I am the first to admit that I am a long long way from understanding the intricacies of computers and if truth be told I am now to old anyway to absorb much information.
