Windows 10: WinRar Version 5.7x+ Security

Hi,

I am looking to create an archive of some files to keep a back up of information, contacts, passwords, etc. and keep a copy in the cloud.. I am inquiring about the security of the password feature. From what I have been reading here winrar seems to have gotten their act together. What are your thoughts and what are my options?

Do you have WinRAR installed on your PC?

If so: right click a RAR, choose 'Open With' - Choose Another App

Important - Check the box marked 'Always use this app to open rar . . .'

If WinRAR is not in the list, scroll to the bottom and click 'More Apps'

Again if WinRAR is not in the list, at the bottom, click 'Look for another app on this PC', then navigate to find the WinRAR executable . . .

I would suggest you to try installing the drivers in compatibility mode and check if that helps.
