  1. WinRe can't find Windows OS/BCDEdit Problem

This is my second post here. I wrote a detailed one with all the problems I've had and the ways I've tried to fix them. The link is at the end of this post.

A short summary is that I got stuck in a reboot and repair loop that ended up with WinRe losing the ability to find the windows 10 OS on the hard drive. I believe I fixed everything else that was wrong, but now I need to get the route to Windows set up again. I did some troubleshooting and was able to find out by doing the bcdedit command that Windows Boot Manager "default," "displayorder," and "bootsequence" are all {default}. Windows "identifier" is set to {default} and not {current} and the "description" is blank. I would still like help fixing this bcd issue. How do I get those pointed to the correct paths?

I really don't want to do a clean install, and am trying every way possible to not do that. In the end, I'd like to just get my restore point to work again so I can go back to before all this happened.

Here's the link to the other post for details on everything that happened to this point.

Need some advice on computer problems.

Run HDtune (free version) on you hard drive. but most likely that the problem. You can also test your memory with Memtest86 as suggested above

    You didn't list your OS

WinRe can't find Windows OS/BCDEdit Problem

Windows 10 1709 System Restore problems...

That seems to be an attempt at Option 2 in the tutorial, which requires you to
    a. Boot to a command prompt (Did you?)
    b. You then seem to be mixing steps 3,4 and 5, thus your command is incorrect.

I suggest Option 1 is easier.

If you still have problems, please repost listing each specific step and saying which option from the tutorial you are using. Thanks.
