    At this point, I've attempted every option I've seen online in order to remove this popup on startup with no luck and I'm not sure what to do. I've already attempted to locate the offending files via Autoruns and even after searching through everything, I didn't find anything related.I've already run sfc /scannow with no changesI've already run DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth which repaired some corrupted files but upon restart I still had the popup.I've done a clean reinstall of Windows 10 via update assistant as well.I HAVE seen that web companion still shows up in autoruns, b

    Sometimes scanning your PC for virus/malware infection once will not get detected. Scan your PC twice for detecting malware or virus attack by running the anti-virus software and check if the issue is resolved.

    If the issue persist re-register the .dll files by following the steps below and check if you are facing similar issue.

    Dynamic link library (DLL) is a collection of small programs, which can be called upon when needed by the executable program (EXE) that is running. When one of the DLL file is corrupted, then executable program
    will fail to perform properly. So we need to re-register the DLL files.

    • Press Windows key + X and select Command Prompt(Admin).
    • At the command prompt, type the commands mentioned below and press
      Enter       after each command-
    regsvr32 ntdll.dll /s

    regsvr32 msdxm.ocx /s

    regsvr32 dxmasf.dll /s

    regsvr32 wmp.dll /s

    regsvr32 wmpdxm.dll /s

    • After registering DLL files restart the computer and check if the changes are effective.

    DLL module not found at startup

    Hi,

    Open Task Manager, click Startup tab. if "Microsoft(C) Register Server" is listed, right-click and choose Disable.

    If it's not listed, download
    Autoruns     and run it as administrator. Save the listing to .ARN file. Zip the file, upload to your cloud account and share the link here.
