Were do I find missing Manifest files in CheckSUR.log

My CheckSUR.log for windows 7 shows two missing Manifests. The online help says to get them from another machine. I only have one PC, so how do I find these files?

  3. How do I create an Extrenal Manifest

Hi - I am looking for some advice/help with external manifest an an app for Win 10.
I wrote this app myself and all has been well until the recent MS spring update. Now I get a random crashes. Each crasj is accompanied by a SideBySide 78 Event
    I am using 64 bit Win 10.

I wondereed if it was possible to create an external manifest an set win 10 to prioritise external manifest as decribed here
    http://pocketnow.com/2016/01/25/hidp...-in-windows-10

I guess I would need a bit of hand holding through the exercise.

    Thanks

    2018-03 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1709 for x64-based Systems (KB4088776) - Error 0x80092004

We had the same issue with KB4088776, KB4089848 and KB4093112 on Windows 10 version 1709. We have been able to correct this issue on multiple PCs where error 0x80092004 (easy spot to see error code is in
C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\ReportingEvents.log) was occurring by doing the following steps:

    • Determine what *mum (manifest) files exist in c:\windows\servicing\packages (specific to PC with issue)

    • dir c:\windows\servicing\packages\package_for_rollupfix*.mum >C:\temp\%computername%-rollupfix-mum.txt
      • Can be piped to location of your choice
    Example:

Volume in drive C is Windows10

    Volume Serial Number is 846D-773B

    Directory of c:\windows\servicing\packages

    01/02/2018 04:07 PM 1,505 Package_for_RollupFix_Wrapper~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~16299.192.1.9.mum

    2 File(s) 504,525 bytes

    0 Dir(s) 408,763,420,672 bytes free

      • Evaluate the resulting text file for lines ending in .MUM
      • IFF no manifest files ending in .MUM are in the above text file skip to step #2
      • IFF *.MUM files do exist then run uninstalls for them in the following format:

        • Dism /online /remove-package /packagename:<Package name that ended in .mum minus .mum name

Example based on the above txt file results:

        • Dism /online /remove-package /packagename:<Package name that enePackage_for_RollupFix~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~16299.192.1.9

        • Dism /online /remove-package /packagenamewinsxs manifest files :package_for_RollupFix_Wrapper~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~16299.192.1.9

        • Reboot
    2. Run the following command:

    Dism /online /cleanup-image /startcomponentcleanup

      • Reboot
    3. Verify these 3 are gone – if not delete them: C (you'll need to take ownership first) C:\Windows\winsxs and make sure these three things are gone.

    - MANIFEST file c:\windows\winsxs\manifests\amd64_microsoft-windows-nat-wmiv2provider_31bf3856ad364e35_10.0.16299.192_none_269c008d8b9a0682.manifest

    - DIRECTORY/FOLDER c:\windows\winsxs\amd64_microsoft-windows-nat-wmiv2provider_31bf3856ad364e35_10.0.16299.192_none_269c008d8b9a0682

    - CAT file c:\windows\WinSxS\Catalogs\c26d121899492be5b17e9c184b6f5a28d104434060dac7fe70bb486c9eade81d.cat

    4. Now your good to go to install Windows 10 1709 cumulative update of your choice.
