Windows 10: Wiping old work laptop

Hi all,

I have an old work laptop that’s a Dell Latitude 3400 that I want to make use of myself. However, the device is SUPER locked down and I don’t have access to the administrator password. The company no longer exists or I would contact their service desk.

I have downloaded the Windows 10 installation media onto a USB successfully and pressed F12 repeatedly on start up to enter the menu I need to do in order to install a new version of Windows. However, when selecting the USB as the BIOS the laptop is again asking me for the administrator password to proceed. So I can’t even wipe the thing this way.

Also, the device is fully encrypted with McAfee Drive Encryption. I can log in with my credentials no problem however that’s of no use as I can’t access the admin privileges I need.

My next thought was to create a USB boot for Windows password reset however no doubt I’ll be facing the same problem trying to boot the machine from the USB device.

Any ideas would be really appreciated!
