Windows 10: Wired Ethernet Connection keeps dropping

I have been experiencing some network adapter issues for a week or so now. My system is an ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 GA402RJ, and my network adapter is a Realtek USB GbE Family Connector according to Device Manager. This laptop does not have an Ethernet port so I am using an Ethernet to USB-C adapter, specifically this one from UGreen. I have tried many things to try to get this working again, from updating drivers to changing power management settings to changing what port my adapter is plugged into, to flushing and changing my DNS. Wired Ethernet connection keeps dropping

I just updated to Windows 10 and now my wired connection keeps dropping. Its not the router or the internet because it happened when I was away at school. I looked at other forums but their solutions weren't working for me. Its a pretty new laptop, I just
got it in August. To get the internet to work again all I have to do is unplug the ethernet from my laptop and reinsert it and it works again for a few minutes.

 

Wired Ethernet Connection Constantly Dropping (Windows 10)

My mom recently purchased a laptop from HP running Windows 10. I hooked it up to our Xfinity modem/router via Ethernet and the wired connection is consistently dropping for 5ish seconds, connecting again for a second or two, and then repeating the process.
Connection over WiFi has no problems whatsoever. My own laptop that runs 8.1 has no problems with the same 2-in-1 modem/router, whether wired or wireless.

Any suggestions as to what I can do to remedy the problem?

I suggest you connect your laptop to the router with a ethernet cable. If the wired connection is stable you know that there is nothing wrong with the internet connection itself and with your LAN. Next step would be to go to the website of your laptop manufacturer and look for the latest WLAN drivers. Install them and test whether it improves the reliability of your WLAN connection. Then post back the results.
