    Wired Ethernet to a switch


    Hi, guys. Please forgive my stupidity, but I really need help on this basic problem I have.I have 2 Desktops & 2 Laptops, all for different tasks, connected via a Netgear 8-way switch.All the computers can access the Internet with absolutely no problem at all.My problem is that I cannot get them to talk to each other, in particular, share each others' files.I thought I had covered all the bases, but I am obviously missing something.I will not say what I have checked - hopefully some kind person will be kind enough to suggest what I should be doing without my erroneous input clouding the is

    We'd like to know more about this concern. Please answer the following questions:

    • What troubleshooting steps have you tried so far?
    • Have you tried using a different Ethernet cable? If so, may we know the result?
    • Are you experiencing the same issue on all of your devices?

    I just bought a windows 10 pc, I plugged the wired connection at the back, but there is no Ethernet connection only WIFI. i CANNOT even find Ethernet in the Networking and sharing Centre!
