  1. Wired Internet Connection won't connect until another device connects to the network

I have a Windows 11 desktop that connects to my Router via a Switch. The desktop will connect to local network, but will not connect to the internet until I connect another device to that switch. I basically have to turn on my Windows 11 machine, then turn on a separate Linux laptop connected via wired, then my Windows 11 laptop will connect via wired internet connection.WiFi works just fine, but my router is too far away to maintain a stable internet connection; hence the Wired Network/Switch.I only have this issue with my Windows 11 machine - I have multiple Linux machines that use the same

Connecting computer with no internet connection to network printer

    1. Open Admin command and type: ipconfig

    2. Win+X->Control Panel->Netwok and Sharing Center
Follow the screen shot. This should disable internet access from this PC but allows access to local device(s)
NOTE: Use the IP & Subnet Mask from step 1. Leave Default gateway & DNS Server blank

  3. Losing network connection

Hello Dear, if you have a laptop or a PC with a wireless network adapter, you can see a list of available wireless networks and then connect to one of those networks. The wireless networks will only appear if your PC has a wireless network adapter installed, the adapter is turned on, and the wireless access point is in range.

    1. Click Start, click Control Panel, click Network and Internet Connections, and then click Network Connections.

    2. In the left pane, under Network Tasks, click View available wireless networks.
In case, If you don't see the network you want to connect to, click Refresh network list. If you see the network but the signal is weak, move the PC closer to the wireless router.

    3. Click the network you want to connect to, and then click Connect.

    4. If you're connecting to a secure network, type the security key, and then click OK.

I Hope you solve out your query soon.

    internet not connecting

Hello and thank you for your response.

Do you mean, connect the cable to the computer and then go to Control Panel and disable the wireless? (don't know if it has that, will have to check)

Will check the network and sharing centre. Am really flying completely blind at the moment and am receiving all kinds of help so if this works it is due to nothing I have conjured up.. Just so everyone knows. Just when I thought I was pretty good at this stuff.. I wasn't.

Ok.. tried all that.. there was no network set up as I have just reformatted the computer.. I am stumped.. I have reformatted before and just plugged in the ADSL cord and Bobs your uncle..
This is the first time I have had trouble with the internet connecting in this house. We have outlets in just about every room and the courtyard.. plug the cord into the computer.. the other end into the outlet.. and I have access to the internet..

I hope I am doing the right thing by writing in the same post until there is an answer..? I didn't see the point in having a running commentary of each step wasting space and boring people lol..

    Thanks for looking in ..
