Windows 10: Wired speaker making static white noise in Windows but not in Linux/mobile devices. Is...

I recently bought these HP speakers and connected its aux connector into my laptop and the USB connector into the power supply. Its making a loud static white noise that increases on turning the volume dial clockwise, but is unaffected by changes in system/application volume. I've tried connecting the USB into many possible power sources including the laptop's USB port. The white noise doesn't go away even on actually playing stuff through the speakers. Even when I plug in wired headphones into the front facing AUX jack on the speaker itself, the white noise gets redirected into the headphones.

The strange part is that this issue is seen only on the Windows partition of my dual boot laptop, leading me to believe that this is a windows related bug as opposed to a hardware problem. On Linux media is playing fine. I've also checked with my office laptop that runs an enterprise modded Windows OS and there is no static noise there either. The same goes for my other devices such as my iPad, mobile, etc. I've followed the steps in this link but to no avail. When I went to my device manager, the speakers were being recognized as a headphones device.



Checked for updates and there weren't any. Is there any third party software I could download to resolve this? Or maybe reinstall windows, etc?

White noise/static from all headphones in laptop

Yesterday my headphone started making this loud white noise/static sound while plugged into my ASUS laptop. I tried changing headphones and the noise still persists, but when unplugged the speakers sound fine. None of the enhancements are on, the mic is
turned off, and I've tried reinstalling the audio driver through troubleshooting to no avail. Is there anything else I can do?

Thanks for the suggestion, I tried downloading the driver from the ASUS website and cleaned the jack with a cotton swab but it's still making the static noise. If the jack was damaged how would I know?

I have seen the same symptoms, white noise/static out of the rear speaker, seemingly muted momentarily on repeat.

Haven't figured out when/why this happens, certainly not all the time, and has decreased during the second week of use/since eventually updating to 10586.29.
