Windows 10: Wireless 850 Desktop - Mouse works fine but keyboard does not work at all

I purchased my wireless 850 desktop a while ago. I haven't tried using the keyboard until today. My computer is unable to detect any inputs from my keyboard.

I put in some fresh batteries to make sure the battery wasn't an issue.

I tried to install the update from this link https://www.microsoft.com/accessories/en-us/products/keyboards/wireless-desktop-850/py9-00001 but it tells me that no wireless keyboard 850 is detected.

I've run the keyboard troubleshooter but that's unable to detect any problems.

I've uninstalled it from device manager and then reinstalled it. Again, it did not fix the issue.

Again, the mouse is working but the keyboard is not.


Any advice?

Wireless mouse not working

I just bought the Microsoft wireless mouse 1000 and wireless keyboard 850 combo and the mouse is not working. There are times the pointer will move but most of the time it is frozen in place. The keyboard is working fine. Any help would be appreciated.

 

Windows wireless keyboard 850 update

My Microsoft 850 wireless keyboard and mouse have been working for the last 2 years on Window 8.1 with no issue. Today Windows asks me to update my wireless keyboard driver. I download and install MS Wireless Keyboard 850 Update and Mouse and Keyboard
Center 11. Run MS Wireless Keyboard 850 Update steps until it asks me to remove the battery from the keyboard without any issue. Put the battery back in, hit a key on keyboard as it asks. Nothing happens. Mouse and keyboard are dead. Unplug and plug the USB
receiver back in, Windows prompts "the USB device not recognized". Plug the USB receiver to another computer, get the same "the USB device not recognized" error. I try to be a good user but Microsoft wireless keyboard update fails me. Sad. What can I do to
fix this? Thanks.

 

Wireless keyboard 850 not working

My wireless keyboard 850 model 1455 has stopped working. A pop up menu from microsoft asked me to update my keyboard. I clicked the link to microsoft and downloaded the update and ran the program. Immediately after finishing to run the program my keyboard
stopped working. I bought new batteries thinking they may be flat, but it turns out it is not the batteries. When I remove the batteries and put them back in, the keyboard green light comes up and quickly switches off. The funny thing is that my wireless mouse
continued to work which means the receiver is still functioning.
