Wireless adapter not working properly on Surface Pro 4

    Split from this thread.

Hi....recently I received the latest Windows 10 Pro Evaluation Copy (Build 18342.19h1_release.190215-1528) on my Surface Pro 4 and now my Wireless Adapter is not working properly. At times I would be connected but only for a few minutes and then it will show a "Globe" icon with a smaller circle that has a diagonal inside of it. This is annoying as now I'm not able to connect to any website. The adapter in my SP4 is a Marvell AVASTAR Wireless-AC Network Controller. The driver version is 15.68.9125.57. Is there a driver update? Please advise.

    :)

    Hello,

    Thank you for the reply.

I suggest you follow the steps below to fix issues with audio and check if that helps

    1. Right click on the
speaker icon which is on the bottom right corner.
    2. Select Sound option
      from the list.
    3. Under Playback tab, Right click on
      speakers\headphones.
    4. Select Advance option.
    5. Under Advance tab, click on
      Restore Defaults.

If the issue still persists, you can also try the steps from the following article to

    Hope it helps.

Microsoft wireless display adapter not working with windows 10 vs 1709 on surface pro 3

We understand that the previous steps did not help resolve the problem. If your Surface Pro 3 still can't connect to the adapter, it could be that the 2.4GHz band might be disabled. The Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter can communicate with Surface Pro
3 on either 2.4GHz or 5GHz wireless frequency bands, but you must enable the 2.4GHz band to connect it to the adapter. Here's how to enable the frequency band on your Surface Pro 3:

    • Press the Start button, then type device manager, and select
Device Manager from the search results.
    • Select the arrow to the left of Network adapters, then right-click the
      Marvell AVASTAR adapter.
    • Select Properties > Advanced.
      • Note: If you do not see the Advanced tab, you're not signed in as an administrator. Select
Change Settings, enter your administrator password, and select
        Yes
. Your administrator password should be the same as the password you used to set up your Surface. Then, select
        Advanced.

    • Under Property, select Band.

    • Under Value, select the arrow and select Auto
      > OK.

After setting the value to Auto, kindly check if you are now able to connect your Surface Pro 3 to the Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter.

If the problem persists after changing the settings for the frequency band of your Surface Pro 3, feel free to post back to us.

If you think this was useful, feel free to "mark it as an answer" to help those who are facing the same problem.

  4. Wireless adapter not working properly on Surface Pro 4

Window 10 Surface Pro 2 Wireless adapter missing

Installed my reserved Win 10 upgrade today on Surface Pro 2 Pro. (today is release day)

No wireless hardware detected. Device manager has one of the Hyper V adapters disabled.

I cannot get this functional with any combination of restart/shut down, driver enable/disable.

I also plugged a USB wireless adapter in, which triggered driver install for USB adapter, but still no wireless recognition.

Network adapter list is completely empty.
