  1. Wireless Adapter

    Hello.

I am having a few Internet issues on my laptop.

It started once I swapped out my Hard Disk Drive for a Solid State Drive yesterday. I can connect to the Internet occasionally but after mere seconds, sometimes minutes or even an hour the Wifi will go away and in place of the White Wifi Icon on my taskbar I will have a Grey Wifi Icon with a red cross on it. The only way to fix it at that point is to troubleshoot the Wifi but I cannot just keep doing this. Sometimes the Wifi goes away and the Icon resorts to a Grey Wifi Icon with an asterisk on top. When that happens I can just simply reconnect to the network by clicking on the Wifi icon and then on the name of my Wifi network but I still do not understand why this happens or what causes it. Sometimes even, the Wifi will turn itself back on after disconnecting for a few minutes. But once again, this keeps happening again and again and I need a consistent internet connection to do my work with the laptop. Note that this cannot be a problem with my router since:

A All the other devices in my house, work perfectly with an internet connection through my router.
B My laptop itself was also working perfectly with an internet connection and the problem only surfaced after I swapped out my HDD for an SSD.

I have surfed the web through my phone looking for any and all possible solutions for this problem. Perhaps I did not phrase my problem properly in the Google search bar but none of the solutions presented to me were able to fix or even change this issue in the slightest way. I usually simply look through forums and posts of people with the issues I am having and getting an answer from there. But I am not getting any that way so I have resorted to asking on my own.

I realize that the issue here might definitely be a faulty adapter or some sort of hardware effect the SSD is having on my laptop but I would like to try one last time to see if there is any single way to fix this issue on my own, free of cost. And if this is indeed a hardware issue, I would please like to know what exactly the problem might be and why it's happening.

Thank you so much for your time. I really really need help and fast.

    :)
