Windows 10: Wireless Display Adapter app crashes when trying to connect

I have just downloaded the latest app from the store windows 11, insider, fully up to date.I just bought a brand new 4k wireless display adapter.If I connect to the wireless display from Windows and then start the app, it crashes immediately.If I disconnect the display and start the app it stops on the "couldn't find an adapter" screen, but does not crash.I conclude that it is crashing immediately upon connecting to the adapter.There is an Application Error event log "Faulting application name: WirelessDisplayAdapter.exe"The module that is failing is Faulting module

Windows Wireless Display Adapter-not connecting anymore

Hello Phillip,

Did you notice any changes on your PC prior to the issue? I suggest that you follow the steps outlined in this support article:
Troubleshooting Wireless Display Adapters.

Since updating drivers did not work, in addition, you can try to reset the Wireless Adapter.

1. On the adapter, press and hold the reset button for 10 seconds.
2. When the message " Ready to connect "shows, open the
   Action Center.
3. Select Connect, and in the list of displays, select
   Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter.

Issue with connecting Dual monitor with Wireless Display Adapter

I can understand the situation must be difficult for you when things do not work as they should. However, we would need some more information regarding the issue.

1. What is the make and model of the computer?
   
2. What is the model of the TV?
   

This issue can occur if there is pending firmware update or the issue with the drivers. I would suggest you to follow the below steps and let us know about the results:
